Ringo is an international calling app developed by Bhavin Turakhia in 2014. After breaking ground in the international calling space, Ringo, the low-cost calling app has introduced local calling in India.
On Thursday, the company announced that it is introducing new tariff charges for voice calls in India. The company says that using its services, people will be able to make calls across the country – local as well as STD at just Rs. 0.19 per minute, without any additional charges like roaming, STD or top-up cards.
In comparison, popular telecom operators such as Airtel, Vodafone, Idea charge roughly around Rs. 1.20 per minute for STD calls, and Rs. 0.40 per minute with any special tariff plan. Ringo claims that users can reduce their talk time cost by up to 90 percent using its service.
Ringo, which is available in apps for Android, iOS and Windows Phone, uses local phone networks instead of the user’s smart phone’s internet connection to connect calls. Thus, the receiver is not required to download the app to receive a call.
Ringo app eliminates all the hassles of communication today, including switching between apps for different calling options, confusing tariff plans, high costs, and low quality calls.
